Examination Access Arrangements & Concessions

Welcoming candidates with examination access arrangements & concessions

We welcome candidates who require examination access arrangements and concessions. These accommodations ensure that diagnosed candidates are not disadvantaged during examinations. Consequently, concessions provide equitable access to assessment while maintaining examination integrity. Most importantly, they enable candidates to demonstrate their true knowledge, skills, and academic potential under fair examination conditions.

Our Commitment to Inclusive Examination Access

AoGC believes that every candidate deserves a fair opportunity to succeed. Therefore, we actively support candidates with approved examination concessions across Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel qualifications. Furthermore, our experienced team facilitates approved accommodations in accordance with examination board regulations and requirements.

Available Examination Concessions

Furthermore, additional accommodations may be considered where permitted by the relevant examination board.

Reader, Scribe and Technology Arrangements

To ensure compliance with examination regulations, candidates may not bring their own readers, scribes, or practical assistants. Similarly, candidates may not bring their own computers or technology devices to facilitate approved concessions. Instead, AoGC provides all approved personnel, equipment, software, and examination resources required for the accommodation.

Concession Application Fee

A concession application fee of R1,750 applies to all concession applications. Consequently, this fee covers the administration, processing, verification, and submission of concession requests to the relevant examination board. However, approval remains subject to examination board requirements and supporting documentation.

Required Supporting Documentation

All concession applications must be accompanied by the required supporting evidence. Therefore, candidates must submit the following documents before an application can be processed:

Furthermore, incomplete applications cannot be processed until all requirements have been satisfied.

Alternative Site Arrangement (Non-AoGC Venue)

Candidates may apply for an Alternative Site Arrangement where examinations will be written at a venue other than AoGC. However, this concession must be fully applied for and approved before any facilitation can occur. Furthermore, once approval has been granted, the related invoice must be settled in full before arrangements are implemented. Therefore, candidates and centres are encouraged to submit applications as early as possible to avoid delays.

Early Application Is Recommended

Because concession applications often require review and approval by examination boards, early submission is strongly recommended. Consequently, timely applications allow sufficient opportunity for assessment, processing, approval, and implementation. Therefore, candidates should begin the concession process well before examination registration deadlines.
